Drop, Cover and Hold On?!

Forget standing in a doorway or the so –called “Triangle of Life.” Adopt the “Drop, Cover and Hold On” method that is recommended by emergency managers, researchers and school safety advocates around the world. Even with education, training, and practice, it can be hard to fight the body’s gut reaction to run for your life during an earthquake.  Experts remind us that this is not the best course of action.

The Earthquake Country Alliance has created an informative list of safety tips and facts, including the “Shift Happens, Secure Your Space” campaign.  Most importantly, recommendation list addresses the many conflicting life-saving techniques being purported by various emails and urban legends.
